Innova`s New Starlite Technology allows them to make Star discs in super light weights while maintaining their overall stability. Blizzard Technology incorporated into Star plastic employs tiny air bubbles in the rim making it possible to create lightweight discs with the same characteristics of their heavyweight brethren.
These Starlight Sidewinders are domey and very grippy so you can really grip in and rip them. The high dome makes them slightly overstable, especially for 150 class. Having said that though, it is still a lightweight Sidewinder and it will turnover gradually at higher armspeeds. But its stability does make it want to try to fight its way back to level.
Very Nice Indeed!
The Sidewinder is famous for easily controlled S-turn drives that will start with a hyzer angle and slowly turnover throughout the middle of the flight and then, unlike a roadrunner, fight its way back to flat and maybe even hyzer a little as it lands. It is very easy to have a net straight effect with this disc. That means it ends up finishing directly at the target you aim for even though it spends most of its flight curving to the right and/or left. It`s angle sensitive meaning throw it with some hyzer and she`ll finish with just a little hyzer. Throw it flat and she`ll finish flat or, with a little pop, turnover slightly. Throw it with anhyzer and she`ll hold throughout the flight and fight back just a little at the end. One of the best discs for gliding effortlessly down a tight fairway on moderate to long drives that demand precision and control. Great for players with a medium snap in the heavy weights, while working the same way in the lower weights for players with less snap and lower arm speed. This is another Editor`s Top Pick in the long range driver category. Many players who use the Sidewinder find that they end up using it for a very high percentage of their drives. The Starlite Plastic is soft and grippy and really feels great in the hand.
More from Innova -
The Sidewinder is a fast flyer with a predictable high speed turn and lots of glide. This disc can add distance to anyone’s drive, but is especially useful for those with less power. The Sidewinder is our best disc for long turnover shots and long distance rollers. Even disc golfers who have never had much success throwing a roller shot, will be amazed at the results they can achieve with the Sidewinder.
