Details

The Star Roadrunner Is one of the sweetest control distance drivers to ever grace the disc golf world. The plastic, for one, is incredibly grippy, allowing you to sink your thumb into it and really push on the plastic for torque. It`s stability is deceptive because it`s designed as an understable driver but will essentially do just about whatever you ask it to, from hyzer to anhyzer, from straight to turnover. It`s versatility is nothing short of phenomenal. It`s not the fastest driver out there but it is very fast. Whatever it lacks in speed, it seems to make up for in glide. In fact, for most players in the medium torque range, nothing will glide better.

Try it on super tight, tree-lined straight drives in the 300-380 range and watch how easily it releases and flows out of your hand straight down the fairway nestling up just a few feet from the pin. Throw it towards the sky on an anhyzer angle and aim it higher than you think you can throw. It will soar to the clouds and turnover, gravity pulling it forward as it pulls it down, leveling out about 10 feet from the ground and soaring forward towards the target. Even in the lighter weights, it`s ability to resist a turn is amazing. As long as the wind is favorable to non-exsistent, this disc will comply to your every demand. As the wind kicks up it can be used for all manner of turnover shot. As the wind gets steady to strong, move up to a more stable driver.

The Star plastic will last an incredibly long time, breaking in slowly and gracefully.

Available in a wide variety of colors. 150-175 grams although, right now, they are hard to find under 160.

This disc earns the Editor`s Top Pick Award for best all around distance driver.

One of the best out of the box turnover drivers out there. The Star RR is slightly less stable but has more glide than its Champion counterpart. Big distance for those without the biggest arms. (Posted on 9/28/12)

This is the perfect turn-over disc for long anhyzer shots. Depending on the amount of snap you use, it will either hold the anhyzer all the way to the end or it will can come back slightly with less snap. It can also be used for long distance drives when you throw it slightly hyzer, it can pull up into a straight shot and then finish with a slight fade. (Posted on 8/27/12)

A must have disc. Perfect for any turnover shot. Resists the cut and roll, and has great glide. Always delivers a predictable finish. 173 rhbh. (Posted on 5/3/12)

My first piece of Star plastic after I graduated from DX. For the recreational player who takes the game seriously, but hasn't yet found his inner bazooka, you will not find a better disc than the Roadrunner. I hadn't thrown one for almost a year, and picked it out by accident and let fly and it left me wondering why I'm still not throwing it. Probably because she turns over too easily now, but handle her with some finesse and a hyzer release she'll reward you with that long smooth glide. (Posted on 8/2/11)

Good special purpose disc. For beginners who want some distance in there drives try this disc in lower weights and you'll be amazed that you finally found a disc that went straight!!! This is the disc I use for rollers at 175G. this things like a tank through the grass! Also good for slower speed controll drives that need to go straight. How bout one of those dog leg right holes that are short enough to reach with a big drive? (Posted on 5/21/11)

Very predictable s-curve disc. Easy to throw for big D. I have one max weight and it is one of my main drivers. Give it a go, its worth it. (Posted on 3/23/11)

Good disc to throw uphill. Hanldes height amazingly well. Not a go-to driver but a very useful one. Best with a little wind at your back. (Posted on 3/7/11)

The Roadrunner is a sick disc. Great distance without compromising accuracy. Super predictable s-throws make it a great long distance driver. The plastic could stand to be a little bit sturdier, but a great disc nonetheless. (Posted on 12/10/10)

I'd heard great things from some friends about this disc as far as it being a good disc to learn to throw rollers with. I picked one up in a ligher weight (162g). It's still the disc that I go to for throwing rollers as I can get it to roll straighter further than any other disc I've tried. Also, while it's not my go-to disc on other shots, for newer players such as myself, with it being very understable, it is great for throwing relatively flat shots to maintain distance, while still getting it to fly wide right during the high speed flight to get around obstacles. i have this disc in 171 grams. i use this disc for long anhyzer shots, short thumbers, drives in a narrow fairway, and long roller shots. it's hit the concrete nice and hard a couple of times and it barely got scratched up thanks to the star plastic. if you throw this disc straight it will stay straight and hard it will turn over no matter what. the only complaint i have about this disc is that it turns over if you want a soft hyzer line, but it will keep a medium to hard hyzer line though. I am throwing a lighter version of this disc. It is surprisingly stable after flipping into a perfect glide. Excellent for tunnel shots as it requires no ceiling height. This disc is perfect for the "grip it and rip it" slogan because I really sink my fingers into the rubbery star plastic and force the disc to come out of my hand. The lighter version requires more snap than power and the grippy star plastic allows you to give it more of a short snap than a reach back and crush. This disc has GLIDE! (Posted on 8/13/07)

I carry 3 Roadrunners in my bag 2 171g champ and 1 175g star. These are some amazing discs. I throw my champ 171's flat, hard, and a little high with a lot of snap they will cut way right and just go forever. Or put a lot of hyzer and a lot of snap on it and it will flip flat and just go arrow straight. Also great for long rollers and short tomahawks. The Champ and the Star are two completely different discs. The max weight star is great for long tomahawks. Also for the straight shots and soft rights. The Star Roadrunner is like a super fast Leopard not the crazy right turner that the champ is. The Roadrunner is also one of the greatest candy plastic beginner discs ever next to the sidewinder. My Girlfriend throws a 169g. champ Roadrunner and hit every inch of 250 ft. and that is amazing for her. Try it and trust me it will stay in the bag for a long time. As far a GDisc.com is concerned they are awesome I've been playing for about a two years and this is the hot spot. Joe, Wendy, Scott, and Little Joey and the rest of the staff are some of the coolest people you will ever meet. They have almost anything you can think of in stock. You got to check out there store in Clearwater Florida. (Posted on 8/13/07)
