Not sure what you mean by regular FireBird but a 12X is Champion plastic. If you have a Champion FireBird with no 12X stamp on it then it is just a different stamp - they are otherwise the same aside from which run they come from.

When first picking up this disc on the tee, you might notice that almost all of the weight is on the rim. This makes it a bit harder to release level. Most of my throws with it at first went far, but not straight- something I attribute to not yet being used to the off-center weight. That begin said, once it does release, it tends to find it's own level as best as it can, and finally having a slight gentle fade (not sharp) that really penetrates for extra distance.

I haven't been able to get good accuracy on my backhand drives, but it's wind depth is absolutely perfect for flick shots, and the extra wing weight seems to help me here rather than hurt. It could be that the extra torque I get with a flick versus a backhand really let's the disc's gyroscopic ability shine. I will probably be using this for flicks mostly, since I haven't seen it replace my normal backhand drivers yet.
