Details

The Demon is one of the most overstable midrange discs on the market. The plastic it`s made out of may outlive the apocalypse. Great for upshots and short midrange drives in windy conditions, where predictability is a must. It`s so predictable in its hook it`ll never get away from you. Takes years to beat in. The Demon is Gateway`s super-stable midrange disc that`s so horkin` stable it can tame even the biggest power-throwers out there and reel in those unweildy short shots. This is a great tool to put a leash on powerful overthrows. It will do the same thing every time no matter how bad you throw it. It`s just incredibly hard to alter it`s flight path, even into the wind. Forget about turning this disc over. And these discs are notoriously durable, refusing to beat in for years. E plastic is the faster, glossy version. Optimal range: 120-270 feet, although He-Man and his buddies may forcibly heave it further. Colors vary. 165-175 grams.

William Roan Review by William Roan

The S demon is a slow, massively overstable approach disc/midrange driver built to always finish with a strong fade, even in the face of the strongest headwinds, extreme anhyzer angles, or loads of off axis torque. The demon has a rim depth between that of contemporary midranges and fairway drivers, but it's closest analogue would be ball golf's wedge clubs. It is meant to get up and down quickly, accurately, with as little extraneous motion as possible. It excels at knife angle hyzer shots, short, straight shots that dump out quickly to the ground from the strong fade, and flex shots where you need an S curve across a short distance. It is invaluable as a sidearm approach disc. The recent S plastic, as of 3/13, is a rigid blend with a tacky, rubbery surface feel. I recommend the Demon on all hyzer shots 150-250ft. This disc really fills a place in my bag. It is massively predictable and overstable. It's perfect for upshots and fading it on a hyzer angle around trees. Great predictable disc in a very durable plastic (Posted on 12/8/12)

S plastic is way better than dx. This disc shines in a headwind when going to an elevated mound. It flies straight then really fights the wind and hyzers down hard and sits. Very predictable (Posted on 8/16/12)

This was my first Gateway disc and I have to say that I really like the s plastic. It is so firm that it makes Innova's KC pro plastic seem floppy in comparison. I use the disc primarily for shorter shots where I am trying to get around something or if there is water near the basket. The demon has a very comfortable forehand grip but is a little awkward for backhand shots if I try to give it a little extra. Great disc for short shots where an extreme hook is what you need. Just throw it high enough and it will knife down onto the target. (Posted on 2/7/12)
