The Soft Wizard is slightly less stiff than the medium but not very soft.  Just a little bit of give on the surface give it much more "feel" in the hand compared to the stiffest sure-grip plastic.

Takes years to break in but when it does, it`s worth it. Great for into the wind putts, approaches and short drives. Great for players with a lot of snap on their putts.

The soft Wizard is certainly softer but still pretty stiff by most standards. This`ll break in quicker if you don`t have time to wait for the harder ones.

The Wizard is Gateway`s best-selling disc.

Variety of colors and weight from 165-175.

Best Putter on the Market Review by Andrew
Product Rating
Gateway's Wizard is the best putter on the market. It is great for everything from in the circle putts to drives off the tee. You will want your putter in base plastic, and Gateway makes the best available. I prefer my putters stiff, and don't be fooled, the Soft is the stiffest they make. (Posted on 1/15/14)

Gateway's soft plastic feels like a perfect mix between the innova R-pro and KC pro plastics. It has the stiffness of KC pro with the grippy feel of R-pro. The small bead feels great in the hand too. It is great for push putts as well as longer runs at the basket. (Posted on 10/8/12)

Not really soft at all, but if you like a firm but beaded putter with good glide, the answer is here. Probably the best driving wizard this side of the Evo Hpp one. One of the farthest flying putters out there. (Posted on 9/27/12)

Not soft or floppy at all. Just the opposite. Feels great for putts over 40 feet when you find a line and need your putter to stay on the track. Has that nice sweet subtle fade at the end as it loses speed. Throw it on any angle and it will do your bidding. Hold it side by side to a Challenger and you'll see that it is virtually the same shape, except for bead on the Wizard. It's subjective, but I like the firm feel of this plastic. It's not easily abused by the wind like many other putters are. Much better approach disc than other "putt and approach" discs I've tried. Very easy to anticipate the distance it will fly. I like it up to 175 ft. But I know other players will use it up to well over 200. Best $10 you will ever spend on a disc. Pick up a short stack, soldier. (Posted on 3/3/12)

This putter can do it all. I drive and putt with the wizard and it never lets me down. I like the chalky feel wizards have and they are probably one of the best(if not the best) putters on the market. If your looking for a new putter and have never thrown a wizard, you need to try one out (Posted on 11/28/11)

This disc is my driving putter, for really short holes. It can take a suprising amount of power and is extremely accurate. I just love the feel of the plastic. Its firm, but tacky. You should give one of these a try, they really are awesome discs. (Posted on 3/21/11)

Has the feel if a pink pet rubber eraser. Very grippy, good for turbo putts, hangs onto the chains well. However, the disc is a bit chunky and drops too quickly for me. My buddy loves it and swears by its magical properties though!! (Posted on 12/6/10)

I have putted with Soft Wizards for about two years now. I use them for distances 1-10 meters. For longer putts I use X Challengers. Right now I prefer putters that are more stiff, I have already ordered Polymer Wizard and hope that will become my main putter for a long time. (Posted on 8/22/10)

The "soft" Wizard is actually quite stiff, but the plastic does have a nice tacky hand-feel. It's an overstable putter so, when new, it will turn right (for rhbh) slowly and reliably when throw with good snap from distances of 50-150 feet. The "soft" plastic quickly becomes dimpled from hitting the chains but this doesn't effect the flight. I love this putter! For something a little straighter, check out the Warlock (also Gateway) which has neutral stability. (Posted on 8/13/10)
