Details

The Wasp is Discraft`s flagship over-stable midrange driver.
Used by power players , especially in windier places, it is relied on for consistent hyzer shots on birdie mandatory midrange holes.
The Z plastic may take forever to break-in but eventually be useful for straight and anhyzer turns also.
This is one of the most popular, hyzer midrange windfighters out there.

The poor man's answer to a champion Roc. Flat, fast and quite stable. A great complement to a Buzzz or any other stable to understable mid. Give this disc a little anhyzer and it will go a loong way. (Posted on 9/27/12)

Great overstable midrange. It's an overstable Buzzz (or actually a Buzzz is a stable Wasp). If you like Buzzzes and want one that's more overstable without going up in weight then the Wasp fits the bill. Has a great feel; the bead fits perfectly in the fingers. Can be thrown with confidence without concern of it flipping. Gets good distance. Has more of a forward fade than just falling out of the sky. (Posted on 6/26/12)

I'm a huge fan of the Buzzz and decided one day to try a little more overstable midrange and went with the Wasp. Boy was I surprised. It has the perfect amount of hyzer at the end and really holds it's own in the wind. When your main midrange is a Buzzz and it's windy out, pull out the Wasp. You'll feel like you're playing with a Buzzz. (Posted on 5/1/12)

The Elite Z Wasp is the perfect straight mid-range wind-fighter. Even in the wind it will still have a consistent hyzer-finish. The thing I like most about the Z Wasp is its stability. I can really rear back and throw this disc with some power and know that its not going to turn-over. I used to have the pro-d wasp in my bag, but getting an Elite-Z version was definitely the right choice to make so that I would be able to throw it the same way consistently. If you want a great mid-range driver that you can throw consistently with or without wind, pick up a Z Wasp ASAP (Posted on 11/18/10)

Z plastic is tough and the Wasp is a fairway stinger. This disc holds its own against the windiest conditions. (Posted on 11/2/10)

After about three years of throwing a Z Buzzz and having great success with it, I decided I wanted something a little more overstable to complement it. My first throw with a Wasp felt like I'd been throwing it for the same number of years. It's definitely the Adam that gave up its bead to the Buzzz's Eve. Knowing it was more overstable all I did was plan for it. The glide's the same, as is the feel. The Wasp has really become the workhorse of my trifecta of Discraft mids (Drone, Impact, Wasp). This disc has become such an asset that, when I realized I wasn't really throwing it anymore, I took the Buzzz out of my bag and haven't looked back since. The only thing I tried to change about my Z was to replace it with an ESP because I liked the feel of the plastic a tad bit better but found it to be too unpredictable. I moved back to the Z and couldn't be happier. It is more versatile for me than the Buzzz. It is less squirrely at higher power, resists turn better and actually flies longer than my Buzzz despite fading harder. Despite being rated as +1.5 it even will hold a low speed anhyzer line better than my 0 rated Impact.I know that Discraft has been discontinuing some Wasp plastic choices recently. If they discontinue it in Elite Z, I will be lost in finding a replacement. If the Buzzz is too squirrely for you at full power, try a Z Wasp. You can thank me later... (Posted on 8/13/10)

Really love this disc. It gives me added confidence in knowing that I have to give it a lot of OAT to turn it over on tighter holes or low ceilings. I still don't trust myself with buzzes on tighter holes because It's got a sensitive breaking point for me and Im a head case. The buzz will stay straight and have a gentle fade as it slows down, but this guy will fade a bit harder. When I don't trust myself with a buzz, this guy is the one I reach for. The gator is a much shorter version of the wasp. On shorter, sharper shots get a gator. (Posted on 8/11/10)

I steered away from trying a Wasp for a while, but I have finally got stung and it feels good! After watching Team Discraft member Bryan Moore throw a couple of sweet ones off tee #10 at Lakeview in Sarasota, I grabbed up a yellow 177g... and I think this disc belongs in my bag. It feels great to throw, I like the weight distribution on it, and after only once around the North Port Charlotte course I can advise anyone thinking about one to try it! (Posted on 2/27/08)
