The DX Cobra is our Editor`s Top Pick for best all around midrange disc. Though there are many fine midrange discs available, the Cobra is the disc that can run the widest range of shots, depending on what stage of it`s life it is in. Out of the box these discs are good for holding a gradual hyzer. As they break in, they become straighter and will be great for line drive accuracy on tight courses. The more they beat in, the more useful they become for turnover shots, eventually able to do 90 degree anhyzer turns. The last stage of their life, they become useful as a multipurpose roller with amazing accuracy.

Rely on this disc for the meat of your medium game and you will save some real strokes on the course. Optimal distance range 240-350 feet, 300-500 as a roller.

Wide range of colors. 144-180 grams.

Great midrange disc. Pretty accurate and not bad for sidearm shots either. Easy to get out there at longer ranges as well. Holds angles well. Great disc for beginners and beyond. (Posted on 10/27/12)

(LHBH) I picked one up in the mid 160 range from the Clearwater store at the suggestion of one of the employees. I had told him that I wasn't happy with my Roc, that it felt uncomfortable, and he pointed me to this, and it has been a great replacement so far. This has a lot of predictable glide, so when releasing make sure that any Hyzer or Anhyzer is subtle, or else you'll be unhappy. Give the shot less power than you think you should, because it does have a tendency to skip off the basket and float far away. Lastly, be very wary in heavy winds, it can do some unexpected things. Great versatile mid. In between the stingray and shark in stability. Great for smooth anny shots that never come back once worn enough. Good roller too once most of the stability is gone. (Posted on 9/27/12)

DX Cobra is a great gliding disc. Its reliable and versatile. Great for those tight shots. I have a San Marino DX glow cobra that has been nothing but wonderful since the day I got it. (Posted on 9/12/12)

Good disc with good glide. Doesn't need to be man-handled for smooth distance. If you crush on it, it will go for a roll, but when you use it with "touch" this is a great disc. Very controllable. Power and angle really work well in determining how the Cobra will fly. Very useful disc. DX beats in fast though. (Posted on 8/27/12)

First disc I ever threw. My friend tooke me out and let me use this disc, I must say it is very beginner friendly. I could throw it far and straight right away, and makes a decent putter. If you are new to the game and want a great disc, buy this one. (Posted on 3/22/11)

I came upon this disc when it was slightly used. It is a very predictable disc. Having said this, I was never able to get it to fly very straight. But its fade is super easy to master. Not great for longer midrange shots. Putting light anheuser on this disc for longer shots is risky but can pay off--don't do it for the longer shots, or it won't flip over. (Posted on 12/6/10)

This is the first golf disc I ever purchased. An Orange DX Cobra (180g). The cobra holds a special place in my bag for this reason also. It's a great disc, and while I lost my first one I still carry one in the bag. It's great for shorter anhyzer approaches or layups, but can also fly super straight. It was the first disc I learned on and I think it's a great disc for anyone to learn on. It's a great all-around disc. You can get some distance off of it, it's great on approaches, and you can putt with it if only I can find a couple somewhere in champ plastic. I'm probably going to have to order one or two in pro from here while I can. (Posted on 10/29/10)

Not a bad disc to have in your bag. Use to have a 150 Dx Cobra and it was great for anhzer chip shots. Only reason for not throwing it anymore because I went up to the 180 glow champ Cobra and its my baby. (Posted on 9/29/10)

This one disc is responsible for more birdies and Top Ten Finishes than any other disc I`ve thrown. It is absolutely critical for those straight to turnover midrange drives and upshots in the 240-320 range. They`ll give a nice hyzer shot when brand spanking new in Max Weight. And they make the most accurate roller I`ve ever seen. Pure Money$$$!!! (Posted on 11/22/09)
