The Valkyrie`s big brother, the Viking is a near identical twin in profile and looks. But the Viking boasts more stability, making it a great choice for those who find the Valkyrie a touch too understable. It gives you the speed of the Valkyrie, but allows you to crank on it considerably harder without turning over and will handle a bit more wind. Great for gradual hyzer shots and straighter shots into the wind. It`ll also fade out of an anhyzer better than a Valkyrie. In Champion plastic, it`s faster and more stable and incredibly durable. Wide range of colors available. 150-175 grams.
A must for every disc player. I was struggling with drives and this saved me. I can get this disc to move right with just a slight redirection. It flies long and far. It will "S" but with predictable results. I liked it so much, I gave every one in my disc club this disc for Christmas. They thanked numerous times later as they had excellent results too. The Viking in my opinion is a great starter disc. I play this disc on the holes that need a far throw with quite a bit of fade. It's never let me down and fear the day it gets lost. (Posted on 5/19/12)
Very thin disc, seems to have literally no dome. Flies unbelievably straight but always fades at the end. I use this disc for FH. Seems somewhere between a valkeryie and an archon. Very good for flat drives, not super fastReview:Nice straight FH discMore stable than a ValkGood for intermediate playersHas a very predictable flight pattern (Posted on 10/12/11)
Another killer utilty driver. If you like the Eagle-L but need a few more feet on your throws. Good for all angles of release not much you can't do with, also works as a roller. If you could only use one distance driver this would be hard to beat. Grab this a Roc and go! (Posted on 5/30/11)
What the valkyrie is to backhands, the viking is to sidearms. Just a little more stable than the trusty valk, so it can take more power and fight off bigger winds. Give it a shot if you throw mostly sidearm. (Posted on 3/22/11)
The Champion Viking is a great disc for newer to intermediate players. When released flat this disc is very reliable on flying straight and true with a very predictable slight fade at the end. This disc will develop more s-like turns when released flat after it gets beat in. If I have to throw it flat and relatively low, I throw the Champion Viking for the most consistant results. The viking is a great disc if you throw it flat. It has a good bit of fade when it slows down, but it really can't recover from a hyzer release. Master it, and it will fly FOREVER!!! (Posted on 11/17/10)
