150 Class Discs

As Golf Discs, Catch Discs and Dog Discs, these will work fine.

150 Discs or "150 Class Discs" simply means discs that weigh 150 grams or less.  Some events may restrict the weights of the discs to "150 Class" only.  In all cases, discs that are 150 grams or less are legal in all events.

Most discs that are available in 150 class normally weigh from 148 to 150 grams.  If you`d like a lighter model, you can make a request in the comment box when you checkout.  Ultralight weights are rare, but they`re occassionally available.

150 Discs - A Beginners Best Friend

If you`re just starting out, this may be just the the place to start.  Just about anyone, with the exception of the most athletically inclined, can benefit by throwing some 150 gram discs.  These discs, in general will glide longer, fly faster, throw easier, turnover easier, stay over longer and work better overall, especially downwind, for a lot of players and most beginners.  Less weight in your hand when you throw will increase your armspeed.  Less weight will defy gravity and float on the air longer.  Less weight will definately fly better uphill and at higher altitudes.  Into the wind they will get more squirelly and turnover quicker.  Beyond a certain point, lighter discs will fail when you put too much torque on them.  When this happens you must either back off on your snap or step up to a higher weight.  A certain amount of finesse and learning to control your torque would be preferrable, but if all else fails, step up the weight.

150 Discs - Not Just For Beginners

Although best for beginners, 150 gram discs can be an important part of just about anyone`s game.  They, without a doubt, will perform better than any heavy disc in a strong tailwind or up a steep hill.  It is true they are easy to turn over, but this can be minimized with the right angle of release and the proper amount of snap.  If you are anything less than a body builder or athlete, a 150 class disc may be the farthest thing you ever throw.
